New Hope Letterbox
This is a pseudo hybrid letterbox. We had planned on making this a hybrid box, but we vetoed that idea since this box is located in a remote area ( where the 5% club camps).
The box is located on top of a summit next to Utica Lake in the Sierra Mts.
Directions to Utica:
Surprise! Your job will be locating the lake and finding out how to get there from where you live.
Starting point:
After passing the campsites there is a place to park on the side of the road. This spot is located right next to the lake. Please park here.

Dear Lizardbutt,
Please remember to put the state abbreviation in
the subject line when you are posting new clues to the list (or even just making
comments on an existing box.)

See the BIG rock. This will be your climb. You are at about 6,500 ft. and you will hike up to about 7100ft.Once you have reached the summit face the lake. Your first reward is the spectacular view of Utica Lake, Union Lake and Carson-Iceberg Wilderness. Now look for the gnarly tree. This is your second reward. The box is securely hidden in the tree. Please make sure to nestle it back in the hiding place (we have high expectations that the box will survive the winter). Now for the grand prize! Look for the benchmark( survey marker) called New Hope.Contents of Box:Scooby Doo band-aidssuperball3 golf tees ( Lizardbutt pretends that these are spaceships)blue chain necklace with gold colored shell charmhappyface manhappyface magnetdice (in case you happen to lose your monopoly dice while camping)spider ( to scare your mom in the tent at night)Doug penHappy hiking and hunting.Lizardbutt's Family
